2003 Science Fair News The Post-Dispatch - MonsantoGreater St. Louis Regional Science Fair was held at Queeny Park in West County St. Louis on Friday, April 11, 2003.Twenty-three weather-related presentations were identified for judging. Ron Przybylinski, Science Fair Coordinator for the Greater St. Louis Chapter of the AMS awarded six AMS certificates. Three of the six students received a certificate and special award. On Tuesday, April 15, 2003, the Post Dispatch - Monsanto Greater St. Louis Regional Science Fair Awards Ceremony was held a Queeny Park. Over 250 families and the student award winners attended the two hour ceremony.There were eleven societies from the St. Louis area who presented special awards to the students. Ron Przybylinski awarded a certificate to four of the six students. Three students, Paul Jarasek (6th grade) andA lexander Ledbetter (6th grade) from St, Claire of Assisi, and Niharika Rath (7th grade) from Parkway Northeast Middle School, were awarded acertificate and special award.These three students will be invited to our June 2003 meeting to be held at the studios of a local television station. Certificate and Special Award: Alexander Ledbetter (6th Grade) from St. Claire of Assisi Title of his presentation: "The Effects of Air Pressure on Clouds" Alexander also won a special award for his presentation - 'Discovery Young Science Challenge' Certificate and Special Award: Paul Jarasek (6th Grade) from St. Claire of Assisi Title of his presentation:"The Effects of Changing Weather on a Homemade Barometer"Paul also won a special award for his presentation - 'Discovery Young Science Challenge' Certificate and Special Award: Niharika Rath (7th Grade) from Parkway Central Middle School Title of her presentation: "What is the Effect of Temperature on a Volume of Air" Niharika also won a special award for her presentation - 'Discovery Young Science Challenge' Certificate: Ching-Ting Hwang (7th Grade) from Parkway Central Middle School Title of her presentation: "The Affect of Humidity on Apparent Temperature" Certificate: Janee Conway (8th Grade) from Long Middle School Title of her presentation: "The Albedo Effect" Certificate: Marian Walton / Rae Price (7th Grade) from Carr Lane VPA Title of their presentation: "The Greenhouse Effect"
