This is a QC check of the stations of the TX network. The technique used is to compare waveforms for a large teleseism in order to check

Instrument orientations through particla motion
Instrument gains by comparing absolute levels

Procedure

For each teleseism, use the IRIS FetchData to obtain all TX and US stations within 6 degrees of 30N, 97W.
Remove the instrument response using evalresp
Rotate three component data to the great circle Z, R and T directions
Compare waveforms for P-wave particle motion, e.g., no P on the transverse
Compare the waveforms for Rayleigh-wave particle motion
