FVM - French Village, Missouri

The FVM station operated as part of the WWSSN network from 1973 to 1985 (or so). The unique aspect of this station is that the galvanometer and photographic recording were in St. Louis while the sensor was 60 km to the source at the FVM vault. Data were transmitted using state-of-the-art VHF telemetry.

As the seismic network went digital, the FVM station was upgraded in 2003 with broadband sensors and 24-bit acquisition systems.
