SAN SALVADOR, June 10. According to various reports received here, the earthquakes of last week destroyed numerous villages in the department of La Libertad. Other villages suffered considerable damage.

The larger part of the coffee crop in the department of La Libertad is declared to have been damaged by the ashes thrown out by the volcano. Hope is expressed, however, that rain, which is falling, will wash off the ashes and thus to some extent lessen the damage to the crops. There were no fatalities in San Salvador as a result of the earthquake, but the property damage is estimated at several million pesos.
