To complete the Station 1 portion of the scavenger hunt, the kids need to answer the question "What causes earthquakes?".
Felipe´ explains plate tectonics by using the "soccer ball analogy". He explains that the patches on a soccer ball are similar to the plates that make up the earth's crust. The moving plates cause earthquakes. Once they answer the question, their sheet is marked and they move on to the next station.
