  • Prof. Chang Whan Oh Visiting Research Scholar, Ph.D., Stanford University, working with Prof. T. Kusky, Research Interests: Metamorphic Petrology, UHP metamorphism, tectonics. Tectonics of Asia.
  • Prof. Li Zhongquan. Visiting Research Scholar, Ph.D., 1999, Chengdu University of Technology, working with Prof. T.Kusky, Research Interests: Structural Geology, Sedimentology, and Petroleum geology of fold-thrust belts and foreland basins, rifts, and continental margin basins. Tectonics of China.

  • Dr. Dmitry Krasnoshchekov. Senior Researcher at the Institute for Dynamics of the Geospheres, Russian Academy of Sciences, in Moscow, Russia. Visited the department in April, 2006. Worked with Keith Koper. Research Interests: Seismological structure of the core.
  • Young-Soo Jeon Postdoctoral Researcher. Ph. D. from Saint Louis University, 2004; joined the department 2004, worked with Dr. Robert Herrmann, Otto Nuttli Professor of Geophysics.  Research Interests:  Seismic hazards and ground motion. Currently at Marine Meteorology & Earthquake Research Lab. Earthquake Division, Seoul, KOREA
  • Aybige Akinci Ph.D. University of Dokuz Eylul, Turkey; joined the department from 1997 to 1999.
  • Nihal Akyol Ph.D., 2001; Assist. Prof. University of Dokuz Eylul, Turkey, joined the department 11/03 - 9/04.  Working with Dr. Brian Mitchell on his US - Turkey Cooperative Research: Integrated Seismological Studies grant.
  • Jaime Campos M.mailto:camposj@eas.slu.edu Assistant Professor, Department of Geophysics, University of Chile. Ph.D. in Seismology from the  Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris, France ; joined the department in 2000; working with Drs. Bob Herrmann and Charles Ammon. Research Interests: Seismology, Source processes, Seismic Hazards and Geodynamics.
  • Tao-Ming Chang Ph.D. Saint Louis University, 1997; joined the department from 1997 to 1998. Research Interests: seismology.
  • Dr. Mohamed El-Shafei elshafeim@eas.slu.edu Assistant Professor, Geology Department, Suez Canal University (SCU). Ph.D. in Structural Geology from Boston University & SCU, 1998;  working with Drs. Timothy Kusky and David Kirschner. Research Interests: Precambrian Field, Structure and Tectonic Geology.
  • Alemayehu Lakew Jemberie Post-doctoral Researcher.  Ph.D. from Saint Louis University, 2002.   Remained as post-doc for 2002/03; worked with Dr. Brian Mitchell.  Research Interests:  attenuation, waveform modeling, source studies, and theoretical seismology.
  •  Jordi Julia   julia@eas.slu.edu Post-doctoral Researcher. Ph.D. from the University of Barcelona, 1999; joined the department in 1999; working with Dr. Bob Herrmann. Research Interests: Earth structure, ground motion and seismic hazard.
  • Dr. Jianghai Li, Visiting Professor. Jianghai Li is a Full Professor in the Department of Geology and Geophysics at Peking University in Beijing China. He visited Tim Kusky to work on Precambrian geology and tectonics of the North China craton. Dr. Li is a specialist in structural geology, petrology, and also works on the tectonics of the active collision between India and Asia, and is working in the Pamir Ranges of western China.
  • Abdelmoneam E. Raef raef@kgs.ku.edu Ph.D. The University of Science and Technology, Cracow, Poland. Worked with Dr. Keith Koper. Research interest: Signal Processing and Enhancements; Time Lapse Seismic Applications.
  • Samson Tesfaye, Ph.D., 1999, University of Colorado. Worked with Prof. T. Kusky on active tectonics, rifting, hazards, and remote sensing of the Afar triple junction area, Ethiopia, and the tectonics of the East African orogen. Research Specialty: Active tectonics, Remote sensing and GIS. Present address, Lincoln University, Jefferson City Missouri.
  • Su Xu Ph.D. York University, 1995; joined the department from 1996 to 1998. Research Interests: Theoretical geophysics, geodynamics, and Earth rotation. Worked with Dr. David Crossley.
