Research Experience:
- Ongoing geodynamical investigation as a postdoctoral fellow at
Saint Louis University from July 1996:
- Completed an analysis of
more than 2 years of data from the superconducting gravimeter CO24.
The gravity data, sampled at 5s, is cleaned for gaps, disturbances
and offsets and then decimated to 1hr. An ETERNA analysis is done
to determine the tidal gravimetric factors and phases, during which
the atmospheric pressure loading and the period and damping of the
free core nutation is obtained, alternatively. A local tide, including
various ocean loading models, is subtracted from the data and the
long period residual gravity is compared with data from the FG-5
Absolute Gravimeter, polar motion and local environmental data. An
estimated instrument drift is then inferred;
- Worked on an international program, the Global Geodynamics Project (GGP);
developed its homepage (http://eas.slu.edu/GGP/);
- Examined effects of gravitational coupling on length of day variations
and super rotation of the inner core;
- Developing Earth rotational modes (wobble-nutation modes).
- Participation in design and coordination of construction of the York
University Environmental Test Site, May-June 1996.
- Geodynamical research at York University,
1991-1996, particularly on coupling mechanisms in the Earth's interior.
Investigation of inner core rotational modes through numerical simulation and
spectral analysis.
- Research in geophysics as a senior researcher at Center
for Analysis and Prediction, State Seismological Bureau, 1986-1990.
Mainly engaged in seismic data analysis, physics of
earthquake, rock physics, and earthquake observation.
