Introduction

The purpose of this is to do some problems and to compute some more synthetics to illustrate theory.

1.  Text - Do problems  4 and 5  on page 3-60 and 3-61

2.  Determine the peeriod equation, e.g., r11 = 0   for a the following:
    a) single layer over a halfspace with top boundary a free surface, with layer thickness H, and compressional velocities of a1 and a2 and densities rho1 and rho2, for the layer and the halfspace, respectively.  The second mddium is a halfspace
    b)  for the same model, but with the free surface rigid.
    c) for a single layer with a free surface at the top and bottom of the layer
