Academic Background
I earned a BS degree from University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in 1985 and an MS degree in geophysics at Institute of Geophysics, State Seismological Bureau in Beijing in 1988. From 1993 to 1998 I did my Ph.D. work at the Seismological Laboratory of Caltech. This was followed by two-year postdoctoral work at the Southern California Earthquake Center ( SCEC) in University of Southern California.
