First
Asia
workshop on superconducting gravimetry
Hsinchu
,
Taiwan
, March
12
-16, 2007
Introduction
During
the VI Hotine-Marussi Symposium (May 29- June 2, 2006),
Wuhan
, many scientists from Asia working on superconducting gravimetry (SG) met to
discuss
a rotating workshop
in
Asia
to promote SG research. The Taiwan SG team, which newly installed two SG
meters, proposed to host first such a workshop in
Taiwan
. The promotion of SG research includes, among others, exchange of gravity data,
software, research personnel and inter-comparison of absolute gravimeters. The
workshop is open not only to scientists in
Asia
, but also to scientists in the world.
Workshop Venue:
Hsinchu
,
Taiwan
This
workshop will
be held in Tunnel A of the Hsinchu SG Station, Taiwan, from March 12 to 14,
2007. A post-workshop excursion to sites of geodynamic interest in Taiwan will
be arranged.

Abstract submission and registration
Please
submit your abstract to
Cheinway Hwang
at hwang@geodesy.cv.nctu.edu.tw.

Traveling to Hsinchu
Hsinchu
City
houses the first and the largest science-based industry park in
Taiwan
. The semi-conducting industry of
Taiwan
is mainly based in Hsinchu, which is also home to a number of top universities
in
Taiwan
. Participants are asked to arrive in the
Taipei
International
Airport
, which is about 50 minutes to Hsinchu by car. Please send your itinerary to the
LOC and a pickup at the airport will be arranged.
