In this park of 1,400 acres are an Art Museum, a zoo, a science center, the Municipal Opera, Missouri Historical Society, an outdoor ice-skating rink, and facilities for golf, tennis, handball, and picnics. Also nearby is the Missouri Botanical Garden (Shaw's Garden), which contains in its Climatron and other facilities one of the most complete collections of plant life in the world.
